Gillian Barker

This paper was delivered at the WOOMB International Conference in Rome in April 2023 by Gillian Barker, Director of WOOMB International. Professor James Brown was Gillian’s mentor as she worked with him in the laboratories of the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. In this paper Gillian explains the published work of James Brown by looking at the Hormonal Profiles he documented in his understanding of the Continuum of Ovarian Activity that the woman will experience as she journeys from menarche to menopause.

The scientists involved in the development of the Billings Ovulation Method® were Drs John and Evelyn Billings and Professors Emeritus James Brown and Erik Odeblad. What started as a collaboration between scientists became a life-long friendship.
