Cervical Mucus, key to fertility – originality and wonder of Erik Odeblad’s Discoveries
This paper was delivered by Micaela Menarguez Ph.D, Bioethics Chair Faculty of Medicine, Catholic University of Mucia Spain at the WOOMB International Conference held in Rome in April 2023. Micaela collaborated with Erik Odeblad in his studies and considers him to be her mentor.
In this paper she details the importance of Odeblad’s scientific work in understanding the role of the cervix and its relationship to fertility through sperm transport and survival. As stated in the conclusion to this paper “What is surprising in this investigation is to observe the care that Nature has bestowed upon the election and filtering of the sperm”.
